The Fasskeller can only be booked with Fasskeller ceremony!
The mentioning of the Fasskeller (barrel cellar) in Goethe's classic work "Faust" makes it arguably the most famous restaurant in Germany.
Today the room is exactly as generations of guests before and after Goethe's time knew it. Transferred to panels in 1912/14, the old wall paintings convey the flair of the historic room. Where a light would normally hang is a gigantic depiction of the Hexenritt - witches' ride - carved from a single tree trunk. A valuable historic wine barrel completes the ambience in keeping with the historic tale. According to the legend, the magician Johann Faust rode a similar barrel out of the cellar.
When the Fasskellermeister (barrel master) or actors recreate the historic scene in a "Fasskeller ceremony" your event in our vaults will become an experience you will never forget.
