When in 1525, the renowned physician and philosopher Dr. Heinrich Stromer von Auerbach (1482-1542) began serving wine to students in the wine cellar of his house on Grimmaische Gasse, the extraordinary success story of Auerbach's Keller began. Since then, many different hosts have turned our establishment into what it has always been and still is today: a globally renowned place of conviviality in Leipzig!

The Helena and Anton Mädler salons offer a rather romantic and intimate ambiance. Here, smaller groups especially enjoy being pampered culinary-wise, by candlelight, at a festively set table.
